The twenty acre Rajah Island is surrounded by the famed back waters of Kerala. A myriad of birds and fishes welcome you in the midst of mangroves to this island of peace.
The uniqueness of the backwaters of Kerala has been captured in folklore, literature, memories and pictures from time immemorial. These backwaters are a distinctive feature of the Kerala landscape. It supports a diverse eco-system where numerous specialties of plants and animals live. Rajah Island captures the magic of backwaters for you.
Staying options
Rajah Island provides a wide variety of staying options ranging from single rooms to water front cottages. You can choose from Coconut Hut, River View, Lotus, Mangrove or the Kashmiri boat. Kashmiri boat is made of the scented Devadaru tree. Devadaru is known to have medicinal properties that pacify vata and kapha.
In Rajah Island, the concept of Panchabhutas symbolizes the ten treatment rooms. These rooms form a part of the treatment complex that is situated away from the cottages.
Six doctors and forty therapists form the medical team at Rajah Island. The centre can accommodate up to sixty patients.

- Boating can be arranged around the island in the calm backwaters in small canoes or boats.
- Walking track for a relaxed and healthy walking.
- Swimming pool- usually swimming is restricted during most of the ayurvedic treatments. Only in some cases, it is allowed with the permission of the doctors.
- Home Gym for patients (exercises will be selected by the doctors depending on their health condition).
- Children's play area.
- Cultural programmes including Kathakali, South Indian Classical Dance, Music or Martial Arts will be arranged once in a while.
